Cape Formentor is one of the most spectacular places in Mallorca and its northernmost point. With steep orography, shaped by the shock of the waves and the wind, in some places the cliffs reach 300 meters in height. The best way to get to the cape and its lighthouse is through its winding road. Today we propose this route by car to the Cape of Formentor from Alcudia.
The first stage of the trip takes us to Pollença. Upon arrival in this beautiful town, we understand why it became the favorite place for Mediterranean painters from the beginning of the century such as Santiago Rusiñol, Joaquín Mir or Anglada Camarasa. Of recommended visit are its museums and art galleries, the curious and very recent artistic project Horizontem360 and the Calvari, originally built in the 18th century, with its 365 steps and those 14 almost 3-meter-high crosses that recreate the road and the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on Mount Golgotha. The views from the top are magnificent. We cannot forget the native gastronomy: butifarrós, Mallorcan sopes, suckling pig, stews, rice dishes
